India, UK to begin two-week joint military exercise 'Ajeya Warrior' from today | Zee News
New Delhi: In a bid to counter terrorism and insurgency, India and the United Kingdom will jointly hold a two-week long military exercise beginning from Saturday.
The joint military exercise, which will take place at Westdown Camp, Salisbury Plains Training Area in UK, has been named 'Ajeya Warrior' by both the countries.
The exercise is held biannually in the two countries, alternatively.
The aim of the exercise is to build and promote positive military relations between Indian and UK Army and to enhance their ability to undertake joint tactical level operations in counter insurgency, counter terrorism environment under United Nations Charter, a statement by the Army said.
A company strength (about 120) will participate from a battalion of the Kumaon Regiment of the Indian Army.
