India began Sunday the extradition process of a Sri Lankan man suspected of planning to carry out terror attacks against Israeli and U.S. consulates on the subcontinent, Xinuahreported.

The man, Mohammad Hossaini, was arrested by Malaysian authorities near Kuala Lumpur in mid-May.

His arrest was made possible is a result of information obtained from another Sri Lankan national, Sakir Hussain, who tipped the Indians to aterror plotagainst the Israeli consulate in Bengaluru, India and the U.S. consulate in Chennai.

Hussain was arrested in Chennai on April 29.

According to the Times of India, the plot was hatched by Pakistan's top intelligence body, the Inter-Services Intelligence agency (ISI). Pakistan, however, dismissed the allegations as a "malicious media campaign."
