India’s presence in Afghanistan: Pakistan’s concerns not groundless, US envoy
By APP Published: August 8, 2013
WASHINGTON: In an acknowledgement of Pakistan’s concerns over India’s presence in Afghanistan, US Special Representative James Dobbins has said Islamabad’s fears are ‘not groundless’.
The US diplomat, in an interview with BBC Urdu Service in Washington, recognised the cross-border infiltration of hostile elements into Pakistan from the Afghan side. “The dominant infiltration of militants is from Pakistan into Afghanistan, but we recognise that there is some infiltration of hostile militants from the other direction as well. So Pakistan’s concerns aren’t groundless. They are simply, in our judgement, somewhat exaggerated,”

Dobbins said, according to a BBC news story. Islamabad has long voiced its concerns about Indian moves to establish consulates in the Afghan cities of Jalalabad and Kandahar, close to Pakistani western border. Dobbins, though, said the Indian presence in Afghan cities was minuscule and claimed it was ‘perfectly reasonable’ because of their economic and cultural ties. He called for Pakistan-Afghan-US collaboration to address cross-border issue. “We believe that Pakistan, Afghanistan and the US need to collaborate much more closely to deal with this threat of cross-border infiltration.”
On Afghan reconciliation, he said President Hamid Karzai was ‘quite warm’ to the idea of talking to the Taliban and had asked Pakistan to facilitate contact between the Afghan High Peace Council and the insurgents. The US diplomat said he hoped that the talks could begin within the next three months.

Where did he say anything negative about Indian presence in Afghanistan or even about how Indian presence is affecting Pakistan ? or is just that a Pakistani paper needed such title to attract viewers ?

Well they also acknowledge active financing, training and supporting by you to some of the most deadly militant organizations on the planet.

And for that matter, your countrymen are actually proud of them. :D

So why not another statement?

One would simply ask , why not comment on the topic and move on . :D Instead of this and that and what one's countrymen think , feel , acknowledge and act . No ?

ONLY ONE SAY THAT, GO AND SEARCH IN GOOGLE AND FIND OUT MANY SAYING THAT PAKISTAN IS SPONSORING TERRORISM.

IF PAKISTAN HAS PROOF THEN GO TO INTERNATIONAL COURT.

International court means they will have to present their own skeletons from the closet as well, something they're not willing to do. Under CENTO and SEATO, till now US was babysitting their economy throughout cold war and the immediate aftermath of USSR's dissolution for some years.

That was very convenient; using US political muscle to pretend to be the 'small, innocent victim against the larger bully state'. But now when that cover has gone, the only method left is to gain the sympathy of WOT, facing terrorism at home, India threatening, India doing this, India doing that etc etc.

That's the last ditch attempt it does without realizing that it has now become futile.

This statement is a good example of DiplomaticSpeak. Depending on which side of the fence you are sitting on, one side hears "Pakistan's concerns not groundless" and the other side hears "India's presence is perfectly reasonable". Go fish.

well Mr USA

As we know u will only say what us want to hear from u specially when ur giving interview to a Pakistani source.

But i will believe in u when u will do such things to prevent that then just oral agreements with us.

So the ball is in your court.

The same advice goes for you , kid . :azn:

Learn to stay on the topic , without posting irrelevant and off topic things so that your BP doesn't get high like now and you aren't seen in pink , next time .
