India offers assistance to Pakistani artisans

LAHORE, Sept 24: The Gems and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) of India agreed to offer all types of technical facilities to Pakistani artisans, according to Muhammad Ahmad who led a joint delegation to India for a week.
The delegation consisted of members from the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and the Regional Standing Committee on Gems and Jewellery and Gold Art Promotion Council-Pakistan (GAPC-Pakistan).
The delegation members visited various gems and jewellery training institutes run by the GJEPC and other institutions.
At the regional office in Jaipur, GJEPC Chairman Rajiv Jain said that the measures taken for the development of trade ties between Pakistan and India would have positive effects in creating conducive atmosphere among the business community of both countries.
It will also result in opening new avenues in gems and jewellery trade between the two countries, Ahmad added.
