Impressive fireworks planned for August 13, 14

ISLAMABAD: The Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) and the Capital Development Authority (CDA) have finalised arrangements for Independence Day celebrations.
Various colourful programmes and events will be organised on August 14, 2017 to mark the Independence Day. In connection with Independence Day celebrations, fireworks will be demonstrated late on 13 and 14 August at the Multi-Purpose Parade Ground (MPPG), Shahkarparian. An Azadi Mela will be organized on 14th of August at Arts and Crafts village. Artists from all the four provinces, including Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Kashmir, will perform in the mela. Stalls will also be displayed at arts and craft village to highlight rich culture and traditions of Pakistan. An Azadi Cycle Race and rally has also been planned for August 14. It will be participated by the cyclists from the twin cities. The cycle race will start from Arts and Crafts Village passing through Zero Point, I-8 Interchange. It will conclude at Arts and Crafts Village via Garden Avenue. Islamabad Mayor Shaikh Anser Aziz has directed the concerned formations to make state-of-the-art arrangements for Independence Day celebrations.
