This spectacular picture shows our universe as we have never seen it before.
It was taken by a satellite sent almost a million miles into space to record the oldest light in the cosmos.
The biggest image is the Milky Way, as it looks now. The bright strip across the middle is a side-on view of our galax y's main disc, where our own Earth and Solar System are.
The reddish images in the background come from soon after the time of the Big Bang, when the Universe was formed 14billion years ago.
The picture was taken by the Planck satellite, launched last year by the European Space Agency at a cost of £496million.
Planck scientist Dr Jan Tauber said: "It's a spectacular picture, a thing of beauty."
