I suppose you will read the Quran for inner peace.

And helping the poor and humanity is a great way to achieve useful peace.

Reading Quran does give you inner peace. Also helping others gives you inner peace as well. Forming relationships with people in general and trying to benefit them any way you can brings a certain warmness in your soul and body that nothing else equates to.

Going to space and looking at rocks or trees from a magnified telescope gives you nothing. People generally in this day and age forget to feed their soul as opposed to feeding their wealth, ego, and physical health. The mind is the most powerful asset you have. Living life while ignoring spirituality only leaves emptiness for a person living a mundane existence.

What is it that you are really after in life? And if you haven't realized it, how can you face Allah swt?

what he stated are reasonable, realistic goals, achievable or have a high probability of accomplishment. Should have mentioned either we are discussing fantasy here or reasonable goals...

Sure you could counter argue well you can't help whole of humanity, but IMO what he meant was whatever is in his capacity....

My inspiration for this thread came from this post by @django in the "Whatever" thread.

If I had one year to live I would convince the government to sponsor a trip to the International Space Station. What better to see Nature's glory than from space and then die in peace !!

Post your choices.

Take a big loan before my bank gets to know about it and blow the money on drugs and women :D

Is there a better place than space to find out the supremacy of Nature ?? Whatever religion or scripture we may follow space is the place where we find ourselves at the weakest. A few high-speed dust particle dashing into the space suit or the space station and we may be gone.

Well yes, what he mentioned were generally practical but still I will try to emotionally blackmail people into sending me to space. :D

Plus of course in my remaining time on Earth I will join a revolutionary movement.

Drugs ?? What for ??

Instead, become a socialist revolutionary and try to compress many activities into one year and that will give you a high that drugs cannot.

I've just noticed that people that have no malice in their heart are never afraid of death.

On the other hand, people that have compromised their morality and soul are always scared of dying. They will try their best with doctors, science, and medicine, but when the time comes they are always regretful. So instead of being regretful at the last moment, perhaps it is better to lead an honest life.

Just my thoughts.

i will enjoy every minute of my life .
i will go to adventure
will travel so many places
i will read so many books
i will watch movies and play music
i will sleep less may be only 6 hours per day .

If you are actually Muslim you would know that space is part of the 7 skies to heaven. And it is only the second. I don't know if the intentions of your thread are light hearted or serious, but I simply gave you a real answer.
