I like these politicians who give it back instead of backing down. Musshy is irrelevant, but the was a good jibe.

he not only a politition, he was in army.. he have more experience on army operations and less experience in politics

Yup and we need more of him in our parties and government.

Though whichever media group described this as a covert op; we seriously need to check their journalism degrees. Imagine, a senior army officer holding a press conference on a 'covert' op. :sarcastic:

it is not only the fault of media, in general population in our country, most of the people don't know much about army, they don't even the difference b/w overt and covert operations... leave that, they don't even know what is a "special force". if you say "commando", most of the people say."NSG commando"".. if you ask the full form of NSG they will say..."is NSG is a shot form!!!??""

True common people may be ignorant, that's true all over the world, even in countries with much better standard of literacy and education; however, media perpetuates and at times enhances that ignorance. Also, ignorance from common people is acceptable; from journalists, who's job it is to report accurately, such ignorance is entirely unacceptable.

Unfortunately in India, there is little cost to erroneous and even fake reporting. they just publish a small retraction and move on.

the people may not be very interested to know about an operation done by some Unknown commandos, and the news won't be an interesting one if they don't have any details of the operations. for most of the people, when they hear about commando operation, 1st thing came to his/her mind is some hollywood/bollywood action movie sean. so they don't be interested if the news reports said some ""XYZ" force travel on foot to Myanmar do an operation and came back after killing some militants with out any causalities"" for them this is like watching old Classic movie.. i am sure most of the people think after reading this news will be..daam why the hell army didn't use some helicopter and drop some bombs!?? why don't they fire from the helicopter?. this is how Americans do it, why don't we do that!!?? don't we have helicopters!!??""... what they want is some action parts with helicopters and guns.. just like Hollywood movies. that is why these media people add some stores of theirown... they want to keep their viewers interesting.

Yes its ratings and money, that's their business. I get that. But when you don't understand what you are reporting, you deserve to be lambasted.

yes, it is all business.. not only in india, in every country it is business. no one will start a news channel because of patriotism. all they want is rating and profit. US citizens knows more about military operations because of the gun culture of the country and the constant deployment of their armed forces in both conventional and unconventional war in different country.
