I guess the tip-off of the quality issue is when Huawei posts to Twitter using an iPhone...

Reports are emerging that when Huawei’s CFO, Wanzhou Meng was arrested in December, the powerful tech leader was carrying an iPhone 7 Plus, iPad Pro and MacBook Air. Meng was arrested by Canadian authorities at the request of the United States for her company’s suspected involvement in breaking trade sanctions with Iran.

According to court filings issued on Friday, the suite of Apple products was seized by Canadian police when Meng was arrested on Dec. 1, 2018. Bloomberg has reported that she had only one Huawei device on her possession: a Porsche Design Huawei Mate 20 RS.

Devices to have data extracted
The list of Apple equipment was listed in the court documents as part of a request to extract the data on them. The court order was granted with Justice Heather Holmes of the British Columbia Supreme Court requesting that the Royal Canadian Mounted gather the data from the devices and provide it to her lawyers.

The request also asked that the devices be resealed. Two copies of the extracted data plus the sealed devices will now be stored in an exhibit locker. The news of Meng’s love for Apple comes as a surprise after Huawei’s publicly strict policy on its employees using competitors devices.

Huawei cracks down on employees
It was reported in January that two employees were severely punished after using an iPhone to post a message to the company's official Twitter account. The two offenders were subject to demotions and pay cuts after the embarrassing social media update. public relations gaffe earned the employees demotions and salary cuts.

The release of Meng’s cache of Apple products is causing many online observers to ask why the heir-apparent to China's most powerful tech company doesn’t trust her brands own hardware. The news comes amidst the renewed debate about the use of Huawei’s technology in future 5G networks.

Australia and New Zealand have already pulled the plug on deals and the United States has called the use of Huawei’s product a ‘threat to national security’.

US calls for ban on Huawei
The European Union has ignored the United States calls for it to ban the use of Huawei’s products but it has proposed more data-sharing around possible security threats from suspicious hardware use.

The European Union is reportedly preparing to call for member states to carry out risk assessments on their planned 5G networks as well prepare documents outlining how these problems could be solved.

The results will be compiled into an EU-wide security standards document. The arrest of Meng sparked a period of even more diplomatic unrest between China, the U.S, and Canada. In retaliation to Meng's detention, China swiftly arrested two Canadian nationals in an apparent act of diplomatic revenge.

Former diplomat Michael Kovrig and businessman Michael Spavor have been detained in China on allegations of endangering Chinese national security.

The US alleges that Huawei broke trade sanctions with Iran imposed by President Donald Trump, further charges against the company alleged it stole technology from T-Mobile.

. .
It's just a preference for iOS. The Huawei hardware is fine. Android is just not as good.

It is Business Intelligence..every big company wants to know the advantages of their competitors.. and in this case that was not why she was arrested.. For the Apple suite, she wanted to get the feel so she'll know what people like about the products.. it is apparently about violating the sanctions against Iran.. but with how Trump is treating the whole Huawei business.. this commercial and industrial war is not surprising.. mostly since he is an old shrewd global businessman..

I think she would spend a business trip on more important matters than wasting time tinkering around with a competitor's products. Besides Huawei probably has dedicated people doing that. This looks more like her personal devices.

That is just a little part of the trip and fun too..
I had a Chinese girl friend who used to have both too.. One she used to communicate with Chinese friends and family in China and the other one for here..

They must be stupid observers.

Using other brand doesn't mean he/she doesn't trust a certain brand. Meng is a super rich person, why can't she own her own preference? Most of the HUAWEI employers must use Huawei phone, then it is logical if the boss want to be different or have them all since she is so rich

. . . . .
It is acceptable for everyone.

Must mean "very likely". Most of the employees very likely use huawei phone including meng. :)

What does your quote:
"Meng is a super rich person, why can't she own her own preference?"

mean in relation to everybody else? This is a pretty warped statement. Why can't non-super rich have their own preference? Plus we are talking about Apple products not a $100M Swiss Chalet.

Who said cant? everybody can have their own preference.

Most Huawei's employees "very likely" use Huawei phone, which part of the statement that difficult for you to understand?

LOL! why did you even mention "super rich" then? It served no purpose.

Anyways at least you are finally recognizing the issue I'm bringing up.
