How did the oldest Saudi Arabian man live for 147 years?

SHEIKH Ali Al-Alakmi died in Abha last weekend at the age of 147. The oldest Saudi man had his own special diet and hated riding cars, to the extent that he went to Makkah on foot.

Sheikh Al-Alkami witnessed the reigns of Ali Bin Mohammed Bin Aa'id, Abdullah Bin Mohammed Bin Aa'ad and Hasan Bin Aa'ad.

He was 38 when King Abdulaziz declared Asir part of Saudi Arabia.

Yahya Al-Alekami, a family member, told Al Arabiya English that Sheikh Ali always ate from his farm, organic grains, wheat, maize, barley and honey.

He ate as well fresh meat from his farm animals and refused to eat at the festivities, or touch processed food.

Yahya added that Sheikh Ali never deserted the Qur’an, and depended on himself for walking.

He had a son who died and one daughter. He said before his death: "Life was beautiful in the past. Today, things and people are very different. No one is left of my generation, so I feel lonely among people.”

He suffered recently from a brain stroke that put an end to his long life. — Al Arabiya English

I know that those 147 years are unverified (the longest a verified human being has lived is 122 years) but one can be sure of his very old age. 110 + years would not be unthinkable.

I’ve seen my maternal great father , great grandmothers ... all in 100+ age.

My Great Grandpa lived for over 120... died in 1989. May Allah bless them in Jannah amen.

My Grandpa’s brother is still around in his 90s... smokes hookah for hours and is Alhamdulilah fit at that age.

Honestly I doubt these oldest man ages . every year medias around the world name one person as oldest and next year they name another that's even older . and really there is no way to confirm these claims as there is no record kept of those times and we most rely on what they say.

He lived a simple life.

Simple yes but also the most healthy.

Organic farming (vegetables and fruits) - check.

Fresh mountain air (Abha is located almost 2500 meters above sea level - one of the highest located cities not only in the region but the world in fact) - check.

The climate of Abha being fantastic - check.

Free grazing livestock - check.

No pesticides in sight - check.

No modern transportation (he apparently hated cars) thus daily physical exercise by at least walking significant distances - check.

Refused to eat at the festivities (meaning most likely no sweets at all or deserts) - check.

No processed food - check.

Walking with his own help thus keeping somewhat in shape despite a very advanced age - check.

Never deserted the Qur'an (strong faith - people with strong faiths have been proven to live longer apparently and have fewer worries in life thus less stress which is very harmful for you in prolonged amounts and if very often) - check.

The only negative thing (somewhat as it depends on the person) was his apparent loneliness but as a religious man and active man (living on a farm) he probably had a somewhat busy day.

More and more people today prefer living a simple life for some time at least. I could personally use 2-3 months on such a farm living like that. I do eat healthy and exercise but the fresh mountain air and laid-pack lifestyle is something that I can only dream about right now.

So I can easily see why he lived a long and healthy life. Most likely his genetics also played a positive role.

It is unverified as I wrote but you can bet that he is well over 100 years old. His son (verified) was 90 years old when he died 15 years ago. So he must be between at least 110-115 years old which is very much realistic.

I totally agree with you.altough dont know much about him but I am sure he was among a very few and rare people not influenced by globalism and its headaches.
