Three workers face possible termination after the upstate NY facility received an anonymous tip about the abusive practice.

After Immigration Control and Enforcement picks up undocumented Americans, they don't get deported right way. Instead, they're transported to a federal immigration facility, much like a prison.
As immigration becomes a central issue of the 2016 presidential election, detention facilities across the country have come under scrutiny. Where thousands wait for either a court proceeding or transportation back to their homeland, they are often subject to unsanitary conditions and even disease.
According to an anonymous tip, two kitchen workers and an AGS contract officer at the Federal Detention Facility in Batavia, New York, also known as the Buffalo Federal Detention Facility, are currently suspended and face possible termination.
Allegedly, the three workers were all "feeding Muslim detainees chicken out of the garbage for their Ramadan meals," ABC 7 BKBW Buffalo reported.
ICE has been informed of this alleged misconduct.
"The safety, well-being and housing conditions of those in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody are of utmost importance to the agency," a statement from ICE officials to ABC News read in response.
The Buffalo Federal Detention Facility currently holds 300-plus immigration inmates, who may wait anywhere from a few weeks to several months for their cases to be processed.
