What section are you trying to reply in? If it's the Seniors Café section, and any thread within, you need to either be a senior member - 2000 total posts - or have a special title like Professional, TTC, TTA or Mod. It's bared from access for anyone not titled or a senior member.

The Kashmir War section is also barred from access from non-senior/titled members, or at least certain threads are. It's in the Strategic & Foreign Affairs Section:

I also ran into the problem of insufficient user rights, though I can't say I've that much interest in the section anyway.

Otherwise the thread may have been locked or you banned from that section by the relevant mod.
