HAVELSAN to sell Artillery Forward Observer Simulator to Azerbaijan | TRDEFENCE


Early in the next year Azerbaijan will purchase Artillery Forward Observer Simulator from Turkey, HAVELSAN company said.

Negotiations on purchase and sale of simulators ended in 2009 and the agreement had been achieved early in this year as well.

Currently, this system is used by Armed Forces of Pakistan. Along with Azerbaijan, there are orders from Georgia too. This system welcomed in exhibition held in the South Africa in September and discussions were beign conducted related to new orders, said the company. But the company has not elucidated cost of purchase agreement.

Note that, AFOS provides forward observers and fire management personnel with required training which makes them capable to use artillery fire power in desired place and time. It comprises customizable 3-D synthetic training lands, high resolution DTED / satellite images and 3D models, target on the calculation of the effects of weapons and ammunition, time, training costs and savings from the arsenal was developed and designed for this purpose.

Azerbaijan and Turkish company expected to reach drone aircraft deal

Azerbaijan and Turkeys TAI (Turkish Aerospace Industries) are expected to sign a deal on purchase and sale of drone aircraft Turna, defense sources said.

Azerbaijan has already learned tactic-technical features of this aircraft. It has positive opinion. There are no details about the number of drone aircrafts Azerbaijan purchases from TAI.

These drone aircrafts are the TAIs special products and are used by the Turkish armed forces, Turkeys deputy minister of defense industry Ismail Tohumcu said. He said following Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan also showed interest to these aircrafts and started discussions on purchase and sale.
