Handicrafts of PAKISTAN

sometimes back the patched topi(colourful dabiyon wali) which our beggers used became quite famous in France, then kolhapuri chapal became very famous in France and England.

There is alot of diverse stuff that different areas of PAKISTAN produce, especially handmade.

I visited a government owned HANDICRAFTS SHOP on Davis road Lahore, next to Agriculture Department and opposite to state life Insurance building. its worth visiting. It used to deal only in dollars from 70s to 90s, and was very expensive.
now its openly dealing and it appeared to be not very expensive either,

there is another shop on Davis road as well, which is private, another on Mall road just before Hall road)

and one is in Allama Iqbal Int Air port, which is also government owned and relatively less expensive.

the whole purpose of the thread is to share what you know is best Handicraft work done in your town, or what your town is known for, or the place you know that is known for its handmade stuff.

Taxali gate:

it is famous for many things, including making musical instruments and ofcourse a very big market for making of groom shoes, kolhapuri chappal, and Peshawari chappals. its worth visiting.
