Five Israel Defense Forces soldiers were wounded by Palestinian mortar fire late Thursday while on an operational mission inside the Gaza Strip.

The wounded soldiers, who suffered wounds of differeing degrees, were evacuated to Soroka Hospital in Be'er Sheva.

According to IDF sources, the force was preparing to blow up a tunnel dug by Palestinian from Gaza into Israel when they were fired upon. The tunnel was discovered about three weeks ago..

The mortar fire was followed by heavy exchanges of fire between the IDF force and armed Palestinian militants, resulting in the death of at least one militant, according to sources in Gaza. Several wounded were also reported as a result of artillery shelling of Bani Suhela in the southern strip.
The incident was reported to have ended early on Friday morning.
Earlier, Gaza eyewitnesses reported seeing tanks and armored personnel carriers enter the territory, accompanied by attack helicopters. They said that exchanges of fire between the force and local militants continued into the night.

The area that the force penetrated was close to where a Palestinian tunnel was discovered by Israeli forces in October. An Israeli military spokeswoman said forces were carrying out "a pinpoint action" in the area of the tunnel, the Associated Press reported.

What a bunch of sick psychotic killers. They still won't admit one if their invaders was killed rightfully.

Gaza needs a Pakistani commando response.

Clashes broke out in the area after a number of Israeli tanks crossed the border fence into the Gaza Strip in an area close to where Israel earlier in October uncovered a tunnel that militants had dug under the border, a Hamas source said.

An Israeli military spokeswoman said forces were carrying out "a pinpoint action" in the area of the tunnel in the Gaza Strip but did not have further details.

Hamas said the Israeli tanks had entered the Gaza side of the border and had remained there for several hours and clashes erupted as militants fired mortar shells at the tanks. It added that an Israeli helicopter had also fired a rocket in the area.

You're a funny dude Hazzy.
13 October Israel discovers a massive tunnel breaching Israel- Gaza border, the tunnel is found in the fields of a village directed from Gaza to the village, not one of the many military out posts along the border.
Hazzy praises the Palestinians. No word of rebuke against the clear violation of the border which is an act of aggression.

and I quote Hazzy from the relevant thread:

They could only find a few during the whole year...they don't know of the many other ones.

There are more though and they will keep building more.

I know, the IDF themselves have said this is the most advanced tunnel they've ever seen anywhere. And they still don't know there is more than this.

In the whole thread there is not one word of rebuke against the many acknowledged breaches of the border.

recent events:

October 27 At 1:15 PM, Palestinians fired 2 rockets into the Eshkol Regional Council.
October 2 Around 5 AM Palestinians fired 2 rockets into Hof Ashkelon Regional Council and to Ashkelon (a city of 120,000 population).
As response to the last rocket attack the IAF attacked 2 rocket launchers in Gaza.
Yesterday: Israel acts against the tunnels that breach the Israeli-Gaza border, for this IDF in turn breaches the border.
Hazzy logic - Israel is the aggressor, judge for yourself.

Satellite image of the area, no blurred area's point that there are no military bases there. Contrary to Palestinian lies.

Please define for us what 'acting against the tunnel' means. A tunnel already discovered a month or more ago.

You show a map of the Israeli side but you don't tell people they entered Khan Younis. Which is to the left of the red line.

There's a reason the IDF called it an 'operation' on the Gaza border.

And I know the Israeli army will justify it. I don't want you to clarify that to me.

You fail again, I have said exactly that:

Yesterday: Israel acts against the tunnels that breach the Israeli-Gaza border, for this IDF in turn breaches the border.

The map's purpose is to show that the tunnel was aimed at civilian targets, villages, with no Army installation in the vicinity.

What's acting against the tunnel? thanks for asking.

Without breaching to border Israel can only destroy the part which is already in Israel, this means that tunnel can be continued in a different direction again into Israel with minimal effort since the whole part which is in Gaza is intact.
So, acting against the tunnel is destroying the part which is in Gaza. In this example the soldiers were wounded while drilling to get to the tunnel and blow it up, setting up explosives put there.
Israel would have made air strikes as well, but I guess we decided to send men in to have surgically placed small explosives instead of blowing the whole place up.

As I've said, your whole post was meaningless, I don't need you to clarify that the Israeli army believed it was justified. We all hear that perspective over and over again. We'll let people decide which perspective they see more justified.

Mysteriously 3 other Hamas fighters are killed further away than Khan Younis and hours later.

And seems like you lied again. What is it with you people and lying, it's like an inherent characteristic.

Contrary to initial media reports, the IDF said, the tunnel did not end near an Israeli kindergarten; nor was it filled with explosives.

And seems like you lied again. What is it with you people and lying, it's like an inherent characteristic.

1. You say that I lied, yet your post points out no lies. Can you quote my so called "lie"?
You can't. This is just a standardized part of your reply as a programmed bot.

As I've said, your whole post was meaningless, I don't need you to clarify that the Israeli army believed it was justified. We all hear that perspective over and over again. We'll let people decide which perspective they see more justified.

Yes, I am sure the accurate sequence of events is meaningless to you. It was addressed to people who's responses are not pre-programmed.
I have not claimed whether it was justified or not I have clearly written:

Hazzy logic - Israel is the aggressor, judge for yourself.

While you have written (or have you forgotten):

What a bunch of sick psychotic killers. They still won't admit one if their invaders was killed rightfully.

You opened multiple threads clearly weighted to your side, but when I am make a reply it's hearing my perspective over and over again? I mean seriously, this is an internet forum, everything is documented, don't you think people notice when you say one thing and it's opposite in the same thread?
You are making a fool of yourself.

Yes, 2 tunnel specialists and one rocket specialist. They died with the same mystery which created a tunnel from Gaza to one of Israel's villages and the Mystery which shot missiles at our cities.

I said you lied because you claimed it was created to attack civilians just as initial Israeli reports have which later were retracted. It's part of the Israeli and Jewish effort to isolate Hamas and undermine their democratic right to govern Gaza.

Stop whining.

They were killed in a separate area in Gaza I believe according to reports. If you can show me who confirms it was the same place where the incursion occurred then I will see what to make out of it. Some tunnels are simply short passage ways to transfer equipment or men to a different location within the Gaza Strip. So I need to see clarification and it was within Gaza the strike which you are claiming I don't see how that would prevent border forces from acting.

What I said, and proved with a map is that the tunnel was dug towards civilian population centers. They could have dug the tunnel toward one of many military bases and outposts along the border, yet they chose a to aim it a civilian area. I have no where claimed that it was located in a kindergarten.
Please provide the source of this quote.
And in any case even if there was such an initial report I have stated many times that preliminary reports should be taken with a huge grain of salt as they are often inaccurate. Israel has published the location of the tunnel and it's photos.

Where have I claimed they were killed in the same location?
As far as I can understand, the Israeli moved into Gaza to destroy the part of the uncovered tunnel which was in Gaza. The drilling set of an explosives Hamas put in place anticipating the IDF move, in the fire fight following one Palestinian combatant was killed.
Later Israel has conducted an air strike in a different location against 2 tunnel and 1 rocket experts.
are we in agreement to the sequence of events?

No, the tunnel wasn't completed and lead to stationed IDF forces. That's why Israeli said a possibility was a captured solider. They accused them of building the tunnel for that purpose.

Everywhere in Israeli is a village. And I don't believe any IDF military bases are along the Gaza border that close. There are IDF outposts. Which was where this tunnel was leading to. The IDF doesn't want to say that though.

And you claimed those three killed were killed in the tunnel that went from Khan Younis into Israel which the IDF was trying to detonate it even though they already had. So that would have meant the same exact location. But, it wasn't the same location and wasn't a tunnel leading into Israel. So it was an unprovoked attack.

And there's no such thing as a missile fired at Israel. A 107mm rocket was fired at an open area almost 16 hours after these 3 individuals were killed yet you're telling us they fired a 'missile.'

Take time to write your posts you're scrambling things up.
