Hello,
I was doing my term paper on the Great Leap Forward. At first I was shocked at the death and how inefficient it was. Irrigation projects causing famines, Backyard furnaces 50% wasted steel and 14.5 million deaths. As I was writing I realized that it was the catalyst to creating the modern unified state of China. It turned an agrarian economy into an industrial powerhouse. So this respect it was quite good. I have always been the end justifies the means individual. I guess what I'm trying say is China needed this, it catapulted them into the industrial age. Your thoughts fellow Pakdefers?
