PESHAWAR: Commissioner Hazara Division, Muhammad Khalid Khan Umerzai Wednesday said that government is starting a 600 MW hydro power project in Kohistan that would proved to be milestone in the development of area besides addressing the issue of power outages and low voltage.
He expressed these views in a ceremony held at his office to distribute cheques among affectees of Patrand Hydro Power Project. An amount of 120 million was distributed among 100 affectees.
The ceremony among others was attended by Additional Home Secretary, Tariq Khan, DCO Abbottabad, Syed Imtiaz Hussain Shah, DCO Torghar, Muhammad Zia, Project Chief Executive, Waqar Ahmad and representatives of Korean Government.
He said that the proposed project in Kohistan would be completed in four and a half years with financial implications of Rs 36 billion. He said that 188 kanal land has been acquires for the said purpose and 30 million would be paid among 37 affectees in first phase.
