LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif on Sunday said the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP)-led government was not serious about resolving the problems of the people of Balochistan.
Talking to PML-N Balochistan leader Abdul Sattar Mandokhel, who called on him in Raiwind, Sharif said that confidence of the Baloch people could not be restored until missing persons were recovered and the killers of Akbar Bugti arrested and put on trial.
He said the patriotism of the Baloch people was aboveboard, but excesses had been committed against them in the past, adding that the people of the province had suffered the most during the days of dictatorship.
The PML-N president said time had come to give a healing touch to the wounds of the people of Balochistan, expressing resolve that his party would continue to raise voice for the Baloch people's rights at every forum.
During the meeting, a detailed exchange of views took place on how to stabilise the situation in the province. Opposition leader in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Senator Ishaq Dar, Iqbal Zafar Jhagra and Senator Mushahidullah Khan were also present during the meeting.
