ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari was in Dubai on Sunday and not in the capital city discussing security matters with Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani as announced by the Presidency in a handout issued the same day.
The visit of the president, who is the co-chairperson of the ruling PPP, which was kept under the wraps by the government, ostensibly for security reasons, was cleverly camouflaged by his media managers.
A handout issued by the President House here misled the entire Pakistani media, print and electronic, into believing that the two leaders had met on Sunday when their meeting had actually taken place a day before at the Aiwan-e-Sadr. A statement by the President House had reportedly said they also discussed other matters of national importance.
Perhaps, in a further attempt to lend authenticity to the claim, the official news agency also released a photograph of the two leaders in a meeting at the cloistered Aiwan-e-Sadr. The photograph captioned: 'President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani meet at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Sunday' was flashed on outer pages of all the leading national dailies the next day (Monday) and the make-believe Sunday meeting of the top leaders grabbed headlines ranging from 'President and PM reiterate resolve to crush terrorism' to 'Zardari, Gilani discuss security challenge'. Video footage of their meeting was also made available for the consumption of the news-starved television networks, one of which reported that their meeting on Sunday went on for three hours.
But the cat was let out of the bag late Sunday night when due to a divine intervention, the presidential aircraft, on its way back from Dubai, was forced to land in Lahore instead of Islamabad. Reportedly due to bad weather conditions in the capital city, President Zardari's plane had to be diverted to Lahore where the Governor Punjab played host to the president for the night at his palatial official abode.
According to sources close to the Aiwan-e-Sadr, President Zardari left for Dubai on Saturday night to meet his family. His visit coincided with reports that the Interior Ministry had advised the country's top political leadership to restrict their movements amid threats of more targeted suicide attacks.
Meanwhile, President's Spokesman Farhatullah Babar, when contacted on Tuesday, told The News that he believed President Zardari was in Pakistan over the weekend. "I can tell you that I spoke to the president over the phone late Saturday night and he was at the Aiwan-e-Sadr at that time," Babar said, adding: "In fact, when I told the president that I would call on him on Sunday, he suggested Monday instead."
When Farhatullah Babar was specifically asked if he was absolutely sure that the president was in Islamabad on Sunday, he paused a bit and then said: "Well, according to my information, the president was in Islamabad and if he had gone to Dubai or anywhere outside the country I expect to have known about it."
Rubbishing the report about the president's brief visit to Dubai and his landing in Lahore on his way back, he said: "I don't think he had gone to Dubai and as far as I know he was present in Pakistan."

Above reports showing the ill attitude, scareness and inferiority complex, I am not a physcatrist, so any one fellow of the forum can explain better about Zadari illness.
its not difficult to reach the conclusion, in view of the formation of power consits of; CIA oriented Hussain Haqqani, CIA via MI6 oriented Rehman Malik, poor decorative Puppet PM Gillani, and a Illetrate, mentally poor but a rich world class great gumbler & black mailer, enough to understand that who are the actual rule on Pakistan under cover PM & President, and what are their intentions which defenitly not good for country. I wish I may wrong God bless us.
If that's happened as stated in artical then we should be ready to face sort of serious mishappeneing in nearest future, and then also be ready to have new version of Ghulam Ishaq Khan-The ex-President.
