General Raheel Sharif spoke at the Stanford University to a committee including scholars and academia like Dr Kiron Skinner and Dr Abraham Sofaer among others. He highlighted Pakistan's role in combatting globalised terror and asserted that Pakistan is a nation of resilient people who have defended themselves at great cost.

Well we need to stop giving explanations to the world, specially USA, Our first blunder was becoming there partners in this war on terror. We lost more than any one else and still USA gives a dam about us so we need to do major change in our strategy.

Anyone have a video? I can't help but imagine the General sitting there unable to articulate his sentences well and giving half baked responses to the questions.

Remember our air force is using their planes and we are still getting aid and other help from them so yes we have make good partnership with them.

i think the Gen. has articulated pakistan's POV quite well on this tour, with or without video.

I think it was BETTER and more useful had the general stayed home and implemented strategies to counter systematic corruption of the army. Additionally, he has a huge task up his sleeves, that is, to kick out corrupt generals.

I think that would have given him more publicity than sitting like an ole fart at Stanford!

I pray that he sat there and ripped them some new ones to look through, but our military does believe itself to be the master of all trades, sadly, and thus messes up extra-military wise. The DG ISPR on the other hand is one not to be cornered, some of the most impressive talks I've ever attended. The rest of the army, not so much.

Its not about publicity. Its about getting our POV across to the academic circles, which Stanford is one of the best places for. Much might have been achieved there since the academia takes less into account diplomacy and politics when forming view points, unlike the media.

Most accurate assessment of Pakistan Army I've ever read on PDF.

Its strange however , why our Head of Army has to go attend a University Seminar , a lower rank Public Relations officer would have been sufficient to attend the small university seminar

Army Chief of Staff is too large of a role to attend small university events specially since his presence is needed in Pakistan

Pakistan should only send delegates when equal rank officers attend Pakistani University or Government sponsored event
