QUETTA: At least four militants of a banned religious organization, including one of its commanders, were gunned down and a security official was injured in a skirmish in Mian Gundi area of Quetta late on Tuesday night.

According to a Frontier Corps official, they had received a tip off from an intelligence agency that a convoy of Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) militants was heading towards Mastung.

FC special wing set up a picket on the Quetta-Mastung highway in Mian Gundi to intercept the militants.

“The militants opened fire at security personnel,” he said. In the ensuing exchange of fire, four militants of LEJ were killed on the spot. A security official was also injured.

“Commander of LEJ and his three accomplices were on their way to Mastung from Quetta after exchange of firing when they were chased and shot dead,” security sources said.

The deceased and the injured were shifted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Quetta

A search operation is still underway in the area, an official told The Express Tribune.

Balochistan province needs only one glimpse of on going ops Zarb E Azb in the province, the result would be whole province cleansed of rented terrorists. If only Pakistan can seal the border all the way from Iran to Afghanistan & mine it heavily this will even insure more security to the province & rest of Pakistan.
