Flight data of India's Agni 3 and Agni 4 Missiles

Apparently Agni-4 has extended range solely due to flight trajectory which is lofted or high high trajectory maxing out at 878 Kilometers (if i read it correctly).
Agni 3 flight path looks a bit more sophisticated and is a lot more depressed.

Agni 4 is some what complicated.
If you google the succession of Agni 3&4 you will find interesting info.
As the tech gain increased BM tech improved and does change the missiles.

Nothing complicated about A-4. The flight path is clearly Lofted which is the simplest possible way of increasing range.
A-3 seems far better.

Your opinion. I can't and wont argue. Google if you really need the answer. Good luck.

Just add rail-mobile in search

A4 is not for mass production. It was a TD if you will. It tested out many new things which A5 incorporated.

Agni 3 and 5 are for mass production and induction.

Yes I looked at the internet rail mobile pics claiming to be Indian rail mobile ballistic missile launchers. All are from wheeler island test facility where they have a non standard rail pulling the missile from the shed to launch pad.
There is no evidence of a standard gauge Indian railways carriage fitted with launcher

explain non standard
explain non standard
the more common gauge railway tracks in India are the Five foot six inch wide, but India has four different gauges, making it complicated and limited for a single gauge to be useful all over the country.
The gauge seen in the pics alleged as Indian rail mobile launchers are shorter than Five foot six.
This can mean two things, the launchers were made for limited area where that particular gauge is used as there is no standard width of railway tracks all over India, unlike Pakistan where all railway tracks all over the country are standard.
Second possibility is as I said, it was just a track used on Wheeler island

Where you got all this BS ?
Most of Indian Railway network is Broad Gauge (90%+) due to Raiways's project Unigauge in 1990s

As for Rail Missile Launcher,

Rail Mobile Launcher for Agni ll

The successful launches of Agni ll from the static launcher have demonstrated the indigenous re-entry technology for IRBMS/ICBMS available in country. For deployment of this long-range missile system, need for mobility was felt. The task of converting the mastered technology into an operational weapon system has resulted in development of launching platform to carry the missile. Rail mobile launcher platform is a 27m long special purpose wagon on broad gauge. It houses tilt beam, transportation support, mating, integration and erection support. It is capable of performing all the operations required at launch sites. A payload integration device has been provided to facilitate payload changing from conventional to nuclear and vice versa. The technologies successfully demonstrated during the development of this launching platform are:

RML for Agni ll. Inside: Agni during launch

rail mobility for IRBM class of missile, 6' verticality accuracy in both the planes, jet deflector to divert hot gases away from launcher tried successfully for the first time in the country, dynamic behaviour of launching platform for hot launch of IRBM class of missile, stiffness-based design of tilt beam and launching mechanism to suit the permissible deflection, hot launch concept for IRBM, first-stage support arm assembly for 15 ton compressive load.

Salient Features

  • The wagon/platform is levelled by five sets of hydraulic actuator/outrigger cylinders

  • Tilting of missile is done in three stages by four hydraulic actuators

  • Tilting is done through electronic controller remotely within accuracy of 90 + 6' verticality in either plane

  • The mission-critical first-stage support arm assembly clears the path of missile within 200 ms

Yes, on this occasion I have been proved wrong. Good detailed reply.
