SIALKOT: A 14-year-old girl was killed on Saturday in Sialkot's Shakargarh sector in an exchange of fire between Chenab Rangers personnel and the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) along the Working Boundary, sources said.

Fourteen-year-old Samira was a resident of Sialkot's Aasi Nagar and following her death, panic prevailed in the area with locals starting to move to safer locations, sources in the Chenab Rangers said.

Moreover, eight-year-old Mursaleen of Bhika Chak was also injured as a result of exchange of fire in Shakargarh sector.

Situation along the Working Boundary has been tense since India and Pakistan reported casualties in clashes in the area and near Line of Control (LoC).

Pakistan says the latest round of incidents began when Indian border guards killed two Chenab Rangers’ personnel in Shakargarh sector on Wednesday after calling them for a flag meeting on the Working Boundary.

Meanwhile, India says four Pakistani troopers were killed on Wednesday on the de facto border in Kashmir after the killing of an Indian border guard earlier that day.

On Friday, Pakistan renewed its demand for investigation into the killing of two paramilitary troops on the Working Boundary and said that the incident had damaged the bilateral mechanisms for peace on the tense LoC and WB.

Adviser on Foreign Affairs and National Security Sartaj Aziz wrote a letter to his Indian counterpart Sushma Swaraj conveying the protest of the Pakistan government over the Rangers’ killing and calling for a probe and punishment for the BSF soldiers involved in the incident.

RIP why can't there be a ceasefire across the LOC?

Deaths of innocents are regrettable. Pakistan should stop provoking India and make efforts for maintaining peace.

How can there be a ceasefire when the Rangers need to provide covering fire to the terrorists they are infiltrating into Indian territory?

It's simple: If there's no infiltration - there would be no need for covering fire - and thus no ceasefire violations. QED! :azn:

RIP poor girl....... Every time when there is a tension in border, these poor souls has to suffer on both sides....... Have no idea why she lost her life and when is this gonna stop....

See sooner or later the Rangers will realise it is them that will suffer more of the casualties when they provide cover fire for the militants, so in time they might stop?

There is no inflitration. Your dumb media and army need something to blame for your drunk BSF spray and pray technique.

So should PAKISTANIs blame Indian occupation of IOK when a BSF soldier or IOK Hindu dies?

You're a sick man.

A sad thing to happen.

@ subject - " Working boundary " ? Why does Pakistan create fancy names - Non state actors , working boundary ?

The Shimla agreement does not use this word in my view.

Also remember Obama is coming so the militants will want to do a spectacular attack like they tried in the Kashmir elections which was luckily thwarted by the army.

I am simply pointing out that the Rangers will realise sooner rather than later (one hopes!) that providing cover for militants will do them no favours is that hard to comprehend?

Don't be so retarded, and stop defending the murderous Indians with these lame excuses!
Your proxies already killed our children in Peshawar; we have not forgotten these new murders either.
That is a very tight border, and no militants are able to cross there into India. How many times have people had to explain this?

“The allegations of us helping militants cross the border are silly,” he continued. “No one can creep into their side through this flat terrain; they have built a fence along the entire length of the working boundary, which is illuminated after sunset, and have watchtowers and bunkers every 100 yards.”

No! None whatsoever. It's those idiot Martians who are to blame who keep materializing from the IB at regular intervals! Stupid Indians! Don't they know that Pakistan is lily white and thus can never ever indulge in cross border terrorism?

poor girl caught in the cross border fire started by Pakistan. Such collateral damage is sad. Pak army owes an explanation.,

Your answer confirms what Nixon once said about the Indians: "slippery" and "treacherous".
That has been our experience as well for 67 years.
