. . . . . . .
Tell me then, how did you get to that conclusion that F-18s, F-15s, F-16s are the same generation as F-35s and F-22s, even though the US government itself claims otherwise?

Like I said. Those introduced 1997 or later are 5th generation. The latest generation.

So a plane introduced in December 31st 1996 and had a first flight in lets say 1st of January 1990 is a whole generation lower than a plane that had a first flight in December 31st 1989 but introduced in January 1st 1997?
What kind of logic is this:rofl:?

These planes introduced 1997 or later are the newest and most advanced in terms of tech.

You obviously didn't read my explanation.

That would be like claim and brag about being smarter than your twin just because you were born a minute later.

First time I've heard such a stupid definition of a jet fighter generation, you should stop trying to re-invent it.

Sometimes planes take longer to develop due to economic reason or something. But all planes in the 5th gen are highly advanced.

Wikipedia may have their definitions. I have my own. I have my own mind. I don't need other people's definitions.

Your definition is stupid, why exactly 1997? Why not December 31st 1996?
Why not all planes introduced from 2010? Or now? July 11th 2020?
You use time as the ultimate factor, rather than technology, as if a plane developed by some shithole in Africa would be highly advanced and considered the same generation as an F-35.

Because the latest versions of the planes introduced in the 1970s and 1980s which are still used by the most powerful militaries Russia, France, America etc. were introduced 1997 onwards.

Iranian HESA Azarakhsh was introduced in 1998, you wanna tell me it's the same generation as an F-35?
