The vid starts out with his premission arming before takeoff as he narrates into the video. The SAM action begins around the 3:00 point. The radar waring receiver tones and chrips can be heard often. In some cases you can see the missile smoke trails.

I have always thought high altitude IR missiles or inertial+ active radar guided missiles would have helped Saddam inflict more casualties against the coalition.

They still shot down a good number of coalition planes with dated SAMs.

A few observations

1) Proves aerodynamically unstable is the way to go. You need the plane to be ok doing crazy stuff and not fight back at you trying to self-correct.

2) Need AI to get you out of a jam. He was lucky in 1991. In the 21st Century you are going to need the plane to decide evasive maneuvers.

if you gave coalition equipment to Saddam and Iraqi equipment to Coalition, the Coalition would still have won

Iraqis were completely incompetent in every aspect of war

apart from one thing, Scud missiles

yes they really did master that part

in 2003 if Saddam had highly trained crews of ATMG + MANPADS it would have resulted in more damage to US, in Urban environment these weapons in the rights hands would have caused havoc

instead he spent his money on a friggin immobile super gun
