ISLAMABAD: The export of chemicals and pharma products surged by 43.02 percent during first quarter of current year as compared to the same period of last year.
The country has exported the commodities worth US$ 257.232 million during July-September 2011 against the export of US$ 179.853 million in July-September 2010.
Out of chemicals and pharma products, the export of plastic material recorded at US$ 112.96 million during July-September of current year, registered an increase of 77.74 percent as compared to the same period of last year.
According to data released by Federal Board of Statistics (FBS), the export of pharmaceutical products stood at US$ 29.10 million against the export of US$ 33.90 million during period under view.
The export of other chemicals witnessed an increase of 39.76 per cent growing from US$ 82.40 million to US$ 115.17 million.
On year on year basis, the export of chemical and pharm products registered an increase of 74.98 percent during the 3rd month of current year over the same period of last year.
The country has exported the commodities worth US$ 92.95 million during September 2011 against the export of US$ 53.12 million in the same period of the last year.
The export of plastic materials stood at US$ 34.68 million, showing the growth of 73.93 percent in the month of September of current year against the export US$ 19.94 million in the same period of last year.
The country has exported pharmaceutical products worth US$ 8.40 million in the September 2011 as compared to the export of US$ 10.49 million during the corresponding period of last year.
As compared to corresponding period of last year, the export of other chemicals witnessed an increase of 119.85 percent which stood at US$ 49.88 million.
On month on month basis, the export of chemicals and pharma products registered an increase of 34.24 percent during the month of September 2011 over the month of August 2010.
The country has exported the commodities worth US$ 92.95 million against the export of US$ 69.24 million during the period under view.
The export of plastic materials stood at US$ 34.68 million, witnessing the decrease of 15.70 percent during the month of September 2011 over the month of August 2010.
The country has exported pharmaceutical products worth US$ 8.39 million against the export of US$ 8.99 million during the period under view.
The export of other chemicals registered an increase of 161.05 per cent from US$ 19.11 million to US$ 49.88 million during the 3rd month of current year over the 2nd month of same year.
