There was a retired colonel teaching at Beacon House School Abbottabad and he disappeared suddenly and later was found in USA. I remember him and i guess it was him. He was ex-Army Aviation.
i wont take his name but if i am correct, the guy disappeared in 2001 and under very mysterious circumstances. One day he was teaching kids , the next day nobody knew where he was and later rumour came he was in USA. Although his behaviour did go strange a few months before disappearance.
As i remember him he was a family man and always worried about a special child he hd. The child was mentally retarted and he was always greived about his future and well being.
It is entirely possible that the worry about the kid broke him and he accepted money and immigration from Americans to go live in USA in exchange for the information.
But if Americans Knew about OBL since 2001, why arrest him in 2011?

thats already discussed. Tip off abt his general location ie hazara division/abbottabad region was given by colonal.
DNA verification and to avail the DNA polio campaign was launched by Shakeel Afridi, Shakeel collected samples, and gave it to ''save the children'' who then send them to America for matching with Usama's DNA sample that they had.
He was their local accomplice.

General Asad Durrani was ISI chief from 1990 to 1992 and retired in 1993. After that he went into diplomatic service and served as Pakistani ambassador in Germany and Saudia.
In his book "Spy Chronicles" he is discussing matters and incidents which happened years after his retirement from Military. Such as Kargil war and OBL.
After retirement, military generals are not provided with sensitive information and General Durrani has written whatever he wrote , based on past experience, speculation and some secondhand information from military circles.
He did not discuss anything in the book, which happened during his military or ISI service.
There is a chance that he remained serving as ISI analyst or policy maker after retirement and in that capacity kept in touch with ISI operatives. Because there are plenty of civilians and retired military personnel who serve in ISI.
He mentions a certain unnamed retired Pakistan army colonel who assisted the Americans in finding OBL while the colonel was an ISI operative. According to the book the Americans rewarded the ISI operative retired colonel with money and immigration to USA.
Although general Durrani didn't mention a date or time frame of the incident but a very similar incident did happen in 1999.
A retired Pakistan army colonel was an ISI operative, did go missing with family and later found in USA living a lavish life.
That particular incident was different from how general Durrani described it. The person in question found OBL In 1999 and upon informing the Americans, he was paid to keep shut about the matter and also given immigration to America so that the information doesn't get leaked.
It took Americans another 12 years to come after OBL when in 2011 president Obama wanted a boost for his election campaign and OBL / Abbottabad incident happened. Obama mentioned that in pretty much every election rally or debate and went to win the elections. With OBL / Abbottabad incident Obama reelection chances were slim.
