EU agency issues flight warning for Pakistan, CAA unaware - thenews.com.pk

KARACHI: A spokesman for Pakistan’s aviation authority on Thursday said that the authorities are unaware of any warning issued by European authorities regarding restrictions when flying over Pakistani airspace.

Parvez George, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) spokesman told Geo.tv that the authority has not received any notification regarding the warning as yet.

According to a circular issued to Air France by DGAC-France, The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has recommended to “all operators to exercise extreme caution if planning to fly into out of, within or above Pakistan airspace and to monitor all relevant information, including NOTAMs”.

The agency prohibits all operators to not fly in Pakistani airspace below 24,000 feet.

The warning was issued due to reported increase in risk to flight operation safety due to potential terrorist attacks in Pakistan.
