Short summary:

The German Istanbul Lisesi School is a publicly funded school funded by a bilateral German/Turkish agreement in 1915.

The directors of the school were advised by Turkish authorities not to talk about Christmas customs and not to sing Christmas songs at the school.

The ban on Christmas violates Art. 12 of the school's founding charter according to which both parties (Germany and Turkey) will make efforts to transmit cultural values of the other party to its own population.

It also violates Art. 24 of the Turkish Constitution.

Looks like Erdo now starts to go into a core collapse.

Where does it say that Christmas has been "banned" all across Turkey? How does one even "ban" a holiday? Turkey will be celebrating Christmas as usual.

There are even articles being written about it:

"With Christmas and the New Year's Eve just around the corner, winter fun abounds in Istanbul for families with children, as the city prepares for probably its most hyped holiday of the year judging by the sheer number of holiday-themed festivities."

"For those in Ankara, the upcoming Christmas Market at CerModern between Dec. 17 and Dec. 18 will bring designer products ranging from vintage items to fashionable bags and clothes as New Year's gifts, accompanied by children's workshops."

Yes, Erdogan personally banned those schools from talking about Christmas, lol.

And even if this is true, Christmas has not been "banned in Turkey" just because of what someone said to these schools.
