The War on Terror brought to us the first hand experience of the devastating capabilities of the Drones . No other nation has experienced the full brunt as we did on our Western borders . Mediocre efforts were made to enhance our indigenous capabilities to the international standards with scarce fundings and priorities. Inspite of this our BURRAQ drones were introduced in 2013, and have fared well against the terrorists.

The US has been the leader of the Drone Technology, but has always denied us access to their systems. Nevertheless our friends and brothers in the region have made great strides in Drones, and are always willing to share their expertise with us.Turkey and China have seen phenomenal growth in their indigenous drone inventory and capabilities. Today their drones are seen in different theaters of war, and have proven their worth of being the Game Changers.
Below are a few options that PAF can exercise for enhancing its STRIKE capabilities in the most economical way.
CHINESE STRIKE DRONES
From long range to stealth and to swarm attack drones, the Chinese offer a huge variety of choices. I have lost count on the various drones they have made and their latest inventory.

TURKISH STRIKE DRONES
The impressive strides in the Turkish Drone technology has been the hall mark of this decade. Every type of drone is been made by our Turkish brothers.

Armed drone Akıncı is my favourite, would love to have many of these.

CONCLUSION
A regiment of Drones can be erected at a fraction of costs to their jet counterparts. The world is moving fast towards the economical battlefield solutions. PAF should organise a dedicated COMMAND for the drones, with Recce and Strike duties. Hopefully with the help of our brothers and friends, our indigenous projects will be at par with the rest. :pakistan::pakistan::pakistan:

AKINCI STRIKE DRONE
This drone is capable of carrying folowing payloads: Mini Smart Munition MAM-L, Mini Smart Munition MAM – C, Cirit Missile, L-UMTAS Missile, Mini Smart Munition Bozok, MK-81, MK-82, MK-83 Guided Bombs (JDAM), Wing Assisted Guided Bomb MK-82, Gokdogan and Bozdogan air-to-air missiles, and Stand Off Missile SOM-A,
Baykar claims that the Akinci is equipped with dual artificial intelligence (AI) avionics which supports for signal processing, sensor fusion and situational awareness in real time.
The drone is capable of conducting operations that are being done with fighter jets. It carries electronic support systems, dual satellite communication systems, air-to-air radar, collision avoidance radar and synthetic aperture radar. The Akinci can also be used in air-to-ground and air-to air attack missions.
Bayraktar Akinci will be equipped with multi function AESA Radar system for air-to-air, syntetic, meteorology estimation. Ukrainian AI-450 engines were installed on the UAV during August last year.

There was a news of Pakistan acquiring 24 of wing loong drones some time back. Drones can actually take the role of A2G from Fight planes. I am not sure why CH4 wasnt acquired.

Beautiful drone. Antidote to the Russian S-400

In my opinion Pakistan should get CH-5 or WING LONG II and Cloud SHADOW from China plus one from Turkey.

Aksungur Turkey

And if we are developing our own MALE UAV than get CLOUD SHADOW from CHINA and Aksungur from Turkey.

Indian fear of a slow moving Pakistani drone aproaching srinagar air base was the reason they shot down their helicopter.
These drones will be a nightmare for the Indians. It will be demoralising for them getting screwed by unmanned vehicles and even when they bring one down there will be no loss of life or too much monetary loss.
Wing Loongs and others should be a part of our strike package and airwarfare strategy next time !
Overwhelm the Indians !
Put their airdefence under pressure.

We produce over twenty thousand engineers annually and have been since 80s. Some sort of local R&D should have been initiated and sustained. I accept our easter neighour is rapidly building up its arsenal so as a stop gap measure we look towards off the shelf measures. But for drones? Just imagine how massive the the trickle down impact of the the money we invest into production of these drones will have. And not just money, the technological infrastructure will rapidly develop too, closely supported by our universities. So a win-win situation throughout. Drones arent urgent and we can take time so why not launch a local program.

There was also news of a crash of a drone which seemed remarkably like the CH4. Now we dont know whether that was a test flight or whether that was an inducted drone which crashed. If it is the former then the logical conclusion is that some problems were detected and the OEMs were requested to rectify them. The other significant news is the adoption of the Beidou system. This may indicate there were problems with the integration of the Chinese platforms with the GPS and incorporation of the Baidu might have lesser problems plus continuity of service in case of war. Now as always I am trying to formulate a picture which may or maynot be true. So feel free to add to it or rectify am istake I have made.

We are making our own UCAV in project Azm. It will have a first flight any time soon.
We already have Burraq but it seems it is in need of some steroids to boost it.
