DRDO chief Dr Vijay Saraswat while making a presentation in Sweden last month at the Aerospace Forum. showcased DRDO’s Much Publicized ”Secret ” Unmanned Strike Air Vehicle - USAV, mostly know has Aura , Aura is will be a Stealth unmanned Strike bomber aircraft in development under Project director Shri Biju Uthup .

First CAD images which has come up in shiv aroor’s live fist blog , seems to suggest what has been said about it for sometime now . Aura seems to be much inspired from Dassault nEUROn and clearly a a nEUROn derivative, images show two precision-guided munitions in its weapons bay .
ADA recently had described the AURA as a “self-defending high-speed reconnaissance UAV with weapon firing capability”. and DRDO’s Chief Controller, R&D (aeronautics), Dr Prahlada had said, “its Capable of flying at altitudes of 30,000 feet and weighing less than 15 tonnes, the UCAVs will have rail-launching for the missiles, bombs and PGMs (precision-guided munitions) they will carry.”

DRDO and Dassault Aviation have not publicly have agreed for any agreement on AURA project , but have in past offered to assist DRDO in their unmanned programmes , which includes Aura .

Shoot down the satellite, and the Aura or any other UCAV is useless.....The achilles heel...

Be prepared to see this after 2050 at the earliest. DRDO/HAL/ADA scumbags!

come on bro, they are doing what they can. specially when there is a lot of brain drain from the nation and all crappy politics.
had IAF accepted LCA with basic package , we would have 4 squadrons of LCA already flying in IAF( and we could keep upgrading them). AURA may fly sooner if we use K9 rather than waiting for K10.

Actually almost all UCAV's in the pipeline, including this one, have inertial navigation and aren't actually flown by the pilot constantly but rather way-points are programmed into the UCAV and the machine navigates itself there. If at any time the connection between the machine and controller is lost the machine will navigate to a programmed emergency landing site and land itself.

Not to mention that these aircrafts will often be used in combined attacks with manned fighters that can control it via data links to:
