According to NASA the moon is 238,855 miles away from the earth but a Nikon P900 picks it up with no problem.

There has been a big debate on mirrorless vs non-mirrorless. My own opinion is if you really are into astronomical photography, then sure, go for a Nikon P900. If you are an everyday photographer, the Nikon P900 doesn't really make sense and Nikon is just upselling an expensive gizmo to you.
