Defeated Congressman files sexual assault case against AAP legislator

Newly-elected Aam Aadmi Party legislator Dharmender Koli has been booked by the Delhi Police in a case relating to the outraging of the modesty of a woman.

The woman Mr Koli allegedly targeted is married to Veer Singh Dhingan, a former Congress legislator the AAP leader defeated in the Delhi polls.

According to the complaint filed on Monday, Mr Koli allegedly entered Mr Dhingan's house during his victory lap on Sunday in north-east Delhi's Seemapuri constituency and misbehaved with his wife.

The police are investigating the incident.

Mr Koli's sister, Santosh Koli, one of the associates of Arvind Kejriwal since his NGO days, was given the ticket from Seemapuri in elections this year. But she died in August after being injured in a road accident soon after her candidature was announced.

Mr Kejriwal's party had then filed a case alleging conspiracy behind her death.
