What's new

Dash Cams!

. . .
What do you use? Is it good?

I have the DOD ls360w

I bought a year ago from Costco (if you are in North America) .

We have no issues with it. It has good night mode and you can easily read the licence plates of the other car.

I got it because of the good reviews DOD dash cams have. I also got it because it has the auto wake and record feature ... So if my car is parked and someone hits it it starts recording automatically... I think that is an important feature because there are a lot of hit and runs that way.

I would highly recommend getting the rear camera as well ... Which is sold separately. I didn't get it. I think Best Buy sell them for under $100.

I wouldn't get the cheap Walmart dash cams. Get something of better quality.

Good dependable dash cams are those you plug and forget about it... And it does all the work 24/7.

DOD has newer models now... Look into those

If you’re in America you’ll probably need it more because you guys are a lil crazy :P

I used to use Dash Cam 35 from Garmin but now we have our own system however it is not commercial yet.

good to have 1 or more. Useful to prove if you are not at fault in case of an accident.
privacy laws also need to be considered bcos it records everything inside the car and license plates outside as well.

Yes, true, for the same reason, no need to waste time with ignorant and have hard evidence ready to contest any misadventures.
You got a hit in the back of your car. What else hard evidence authorities will look at?
This happened with me a like 7 8 month's back, a car jumps into my lane suddenly with no indicator and applied brakes to full(que jumping idiots). I barely managed to stop. If ever it was an accident, my dash cam would have saved me so I found front dash cams to be more useful.

Agreed. In UAE privacy law is really strict. You can produce the footage only to authorities in case of accident or complaints etc.

I have bought one, not this one but I plan to take it to Pakistan to capture the craziness on Pakistani roads :smokin:

Its a good thing to have and I see so increasing number of cars in the UK have them now! I got one with parking mode so if one walks past it captures that too.
