Trail 5 seems to have the water bodies and water streams in rainy days. Margalla mountain range, the green and wooded areas are what makes this city peaceful and serene.

About time to stop the extra commercialization and follow the master plan. Many roads has been widened at the cost of green belts, which could have been avoided.

More trees are needed in newly developed sectors to give it a look of 'closer to nature' city.
We should not only stick with the master plan rather put a cap on any new developments in the city as is the case here in Europe. Do not let a city grow beyond a certain limit rather make a new city at a reasonable distance and that is as per Islamic teachings and Allama Iqbal told this to Benito Mussolini during his trip to Italy on his way back to colonial India.

Agree with it 100% about your thoughts here. Need to stick with the master plan and restrict any new development in the planned areas.

You're right about Islamic teaching that cities shouldn't be grown beyond a limit, have read a Hadith about it.

Allama Iqbal quote about it is interesting telling this to Benito Mussolini. Yes need to follow the rules just as they are in Scandinavian countries, Sweden precisely looking at your flag, though that is a tough ask but can be done or a start can be made.

KPK province is doing fine here actually in this eco friendly development, more sustainable new areas up north being developed. IK is a nature lover..

Our religion is a whole package and it has solutions for both individuals and the society. Unfortunately we Muslim lack the knowledge of our religion and we are bad marketers for it. For example, there is so much emphasis on cleanliness (of body and soul) that it is considered 50% of the whole faith but if you walk into most of Pakistani cities, you don't find any application of this basic principle of Islamic teachings. Also individuals do not keep themselves clean, so it the case for most of restaurants and food related businesses...Why? because we don't learn our religion the right way.. and even if we know, we don't practice it. If we followed it in true letter and spirit, we would be leading the world and not lagging behind.

It is really true that some Muslim scholar said that "in Asia, I see Muslims but not Islam and in Europe I see Islam but no Muslims" though now there are a lot of Muslims in Europe too but as usual most of them lack the true understanding of the religion and hence not very good examples to follow.

Sweden has half (i.e. 10 million) the population of Karachi (20+ million) while half the area of Pakistan so you can imagine that it has pretty low density and around 60% of the area is covered by forests. Still it is very difficult to get an accommodation in Sweden especially for new immigrants because Sweden closely follows the plans and does not let cities to grow in all directions without proper planning. It is really really difficult to build a new home so most of the people buy already built homes / apartments and then they can renovate if they wish but it really requires good knowledge of laws. Changing the the design of the home requires special approval and often declined. Thus a uniformity of theme can be seen from all directions even the arial views are beautifully planned.

I actually want to write about the systems and how Pakistan can learn from Sweden though most of the things are from our religion but have been implemented in the modern day and age.
