Two Pakistani security officials at a security checkpost in Mohmand Agency were injured as a result of cross-border firing from Afghanistan, Express News reported late on Wednesday.
The firing which started around 9pm at night, continued for two hours. Pakistan army also fired back in retaliation.
The Director General Military Operations (DGMO) from Afghan National Army had earlier visited Pakistan to discuss the volatile situation at the border when instances of unannounced firing had escalated in January. It was decided that such instances would be kept in check.
Officials in the area are currently investigating to identify why the firing occurred, said Express News.
