Apparently 70% of Pakistani people don't have access to clean drinking water. We're lucky in AJK we have next to no industrialisation so the water is clean, but apparently down stream it's not the case. what is the scale of the problem? What are your experiences? Why is this not a bit political issue?

I have literally filled my bottles through river when i was visiting Balakot , Naran and further, and that water is far far far clear than I ever seen in my life , even compared to those bottled Mineral water ..

I'm not sure about the 70% figure. Unicef claims 70%, WaterAid claim 10%.

Is that where you live though? They're northern areas, upstream, close to the source of water, no industrialisation, very little people living there. Bound to have clean water.

Most of area downstream is plateau and there is no proper disposable system everyone has their own gutters which makes soil water hazardous... that needs to be changed...

And we can also implement other methods... like rain water storage system on small level aswell as on country level..

Today I was travelling. I crossed Ravi river and drank water from nearby hand pump even that water had bad taste.

The situation in ISB/RWP is really bad when it comes to accessable drinking water.

So, how do most of you get clean water to drink? Mineral water or filters in your own homes?
