Army Aviation helicopter crash landed near Burma Bridge/Lehtrar road in Islamabad. Crew of three is safe.

Not clear if it was a crash landing or an emergency landing.

.
From past few days especially last friday i have seen more thn 4 - 5 helicopters over islamabad almost 3 hours ... dont know also on monday i have seen 3 helicopters rolling over Islamabad. Most of the time in the morning many helicopters going here n there but not just rolling over same place for 20 - 30 mins.

Today i have seen 1 Bell helicopter over Runway Islamabad near Mazar-e-Quaid Chowk. When i was near Khana Bridge i saw helicopter at very very extremely low flight (same helicopter which was over few feet from runway few seconds before when i was at Runway chowk. I think this helicopter might be crash!

. .
PS: remember there are helipads in Islamabad on different places also Army Aviation Base here in Rawalpindi. For protocols mostly helicopters takeoff landing near club Road - Islamabad (a huge base of helicopters near Islamabad Stadium). Mostly everyday i have seen 3 - 5 helicopters of Army and like Mi17 sometime (espiecially from past few days 1 week i have seen 2 United Nation helicopters in white color Mi17 passing over Islamabad everyday in the morning. Pakistan Army Bell 412 is very common passout over Islamabad i think 10 times everyday. Last year 2 times i saw Cobra gunships passing over Rawalpindi.

Hopefully crew is safe!

Technical fault: Chopper training goes wayward

ISLAMABAD:

An emergency landing by an army training helicopter in the fields of a private farmhouse created a brief panic in the outskirts of the city.

Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the three junior rank officers on board remained unhurt.

The three-seater ‘Acquirell’ of Army Aviation, after taking off from Dhamyal Base Rawalpindi, made an emergency landing with minor damage to its tail and window on impact with ground, officials said.

Earlier on Thursday morning dozens of people who say they saw the helicopter “going down” in an unusual manner rushed to the spot. They thought the chopper was crashing. A group of volunteers reached the place within a few minutes of the landing.

An eye-witness said, “I was standing on the rooftop when I saw the helicopter rushing waywardly towards our building. First, I thought it was going to crash into the building but then it stabilised and landed.”

The nearby building was a cattle-shed with over 30 cows in it, he said.

Police and army vehicles in large numbers rushed to the place and quickly cordoned off the area.

An official of the ISPR told The Express Tribune that the helicopter was on routine training flight.

“The pilot detected some technical fault in the engine of the helicopter and decided to make an emergency landing,” said Colonel Farooq Ahmed.

However, there was no major fault and three junior officers on board sustained no injuries.

The land where the helicopter landed was a private farmland.

Army aviation technicians remained with the helicopter for many hours to remove the fault before it could be taken back to the base.

Too sad to hear the new, but the cre is safe and no major incident happened, Alhamdullah :)
I hope it isint something too big and other choppers are safe, as their might be some fault.

Off topic, but military copters are patrolling Riyadh (KSA) too, as we are expecting unrest here too, and there are Ambulances and Police patrolling and military on main area.
