Yes, We Chinese should have our style, next we should do the same with Uniform, we have to be more creative and search for authentic look for Chinese, never copy western or Soviet uniform.

You spoke my mind. I came In expecting to see western style sabers but pleasantly surprised to see Chinese traditional swords.
 
Finally! I have been waiting for them to change to our own ceremonial sword style. Would like it to be a little longer for aesthetic reason, but a good start anyway. :-)
 
You can find sword made by state certificated grandmasters for $30,000+ per piece from taobao, dont know if these grandmasters could make swords for navy

Why not just do what the japanese did with their shin gunto & just mass produce them in factory. A lot cheaper & faster too.

Well they do have mass production version, which are much cheaper, the hand-made ones are for collectors.
