Chief Election Commissioner Fakhruddin G Ebrahim resigns

Islamabad: Chief Election Commissioner Fakhruddin G.Ibrahim has submitted his resignation from the post.
According to details,Fakhruddin rendered his resignation and said he is no longer in a position to hold his post.
The resignation came after huge criticism over Presidential election.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), Fakhruddin G Ebrahim has tendered his resignation. The resignation has been sent to the presidency for approval.



"I want the new parliament to elect a new Chief Election Commissioner," Ebrahim said in his resignation.



Ebrahim a former Supreme Court judge was appointed as the CEC on 23 July 2012 by President Zardari after being approved by a parliamentary panel. The May 11, 2013 general elections and the presidential election were held during his tenure.



Ebrahim had been criticized for rigging during the general elections and the recent change in the polling date for the presidential election.

He has utterly failed to supervise the elections free and fair, where it has turned out to be one of the most rigged elections in history.

He didn't even bother to investigate reports of irregularities in voting constituencies, PMLN should award him with gold medal in helping them to achieve their objectives.
