A video from 23rd march Flypast of Pakistan's ZDK-03 Karakoram Eagle. Notice the disct moving at higher rate than most AWACS with rotodome. Seems like 5 RPM? Can someone have a look and give an opinion about RPM? How much it seems?

Hard to tell due to the video jumping, but I'm looking at about 5-7 RPMs.

Maybe a rotation every 7-8 seconds?

It'd be far easier without the video cutting to Pakistani military brass every few seconds.
section from state tv video.. what else you expect.
But how important is RPM for awacs?

one thing is for sure the RPM of PTV officials' brain is that of a stone! These Idiots still operate 40 year old cameras...

Not as much as data processing. AWACS radars will "scoop" up a lot of data with each rotation, data processing speeds are more important than radome RPM.

A slow rotation speed mean each antenna array can remain pointed at the target longer, adding for a more complete picture.

Because of the size of the radome, they need to be slow however. They create a lot of torque which in turn can create lift or direction rotation via the Magnus effect

We can see this on a single-wing helicopter:

That said, their slow rotation rate is less about mechanical torque or aerodynamic performance and more about the vast amount of data each part of the antenna array can pick up.

Modern AESA AWACS feature steerable radar arrays which can be electronically cued to remain on target indefinitely.

sure...but you caan see the white stripe?
Can you see how many seconds it takes for a full RPM? You should see one edge of the white stripe 3 times and count the seconds...i guess?

The radome of the E 3 used to move at 6 per minute, if am not mistaken. This is when its operational. When not, its at 1 every 4 minutes or so.

i think 5-6 second for each RPM its means 10 to 11 RPMs per minutes
