LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said in order to promote the simplicity culture, the buy of new furniture and cars has been banned in province, however, new cars could be bought replacing old cars in case of desperate need.

This he said during meeting held to review annual development projects here at Aiwan-e-Wazir-e-Aala on Wednesday.

Major decisions over progress of the development projects and elimination of embezzlements were witnessed during the four-hour-long meeting, sources calimed.

“Rs175 billion have been allocated for the annual development projects across province”, he informed, adding, “Big surgical operations to evict corruption from Excise and Taxation Department aimed at enhancement of its performance are the need of the hour”.

He said an effective system for extinction of commission mafia and misappropriation will be formulated and implemented shortly.
