London court hears Butt, Amir appeals

LONDON: Appeals against the sentences handed down to Pakistani cricketers Salman Butt and Mohammed Amir are being heard today.
During the hearing, Butts lawyer Ali Bajwa admitted that his client was involved in fixing during the Lords test.
Bajwa also told the court that by doing so Butt had conned the PCB and the Pakistani people.
Salman Butt has been severely distressed after his sentence, Bajwa said to which the Judge hearing the appeal asked why Butt committed corruption.
Meanwhile Amir's lawyer during proceedings has asked for a suspended sentence for his client and that he will remain in the UK to carry out any community service.
