5 kids abducted by BSF yet to be freed

Star National DeskFive children, abducted by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) from Haripur border in Thakurgaon three days ago, were not released as of yesterday while Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) on Saturday sent back five Indian nationals who had been pushed into Bangladesh territory by BSF the same day.

Earlier Commanding Officer of 2, Rifles Battalion Lt Col Ershad Hossain told The Daily star that at a flag meeting on Friday evening, BSF officials assured releasing the five detained Bangladeshi children on completion of legal procedure within a day or two, reports our Thakurgaon correspondent.

At the flag meeting held on Haripur Border, BSF officials alleged that the Bangladeshi youth and children were cutting barbed wire on the border.

BSF abducted picked them up from Haripur Border under Haripur upazila in Thakurgaon district on Friday morning.

The victims are Pania, 18, son of Denial Islam, Mohammad Salauddin, 18, son of Abdul Kuddush, Mintu Miah, 5, son of late Nazrul Islam, Abdur Rahim, 8, son of Atauddin and Shetabul Islam, 10, son of Joynal Abedin of bordering Minapur village.

The children set nets in the low-lying areas near pillar No 354 on Haripur border on Thursday evening for fishing, BDR and local sources said. On Friday morning the five children went to the spot to bring fishes when BSF members from Moldakhanda BSF camp entered 'no man's land' and picked the five Bangladeshi children up.

Our Chapainawabganj Correspondent adds: BDR sent back five people of a Hindi speaking Indian family through the Rokonpur border of Gomostapur upazila in Chapainawabganj on Saturday night.

The Indians -- Elias Ali, 35, his wife Momtaj Begum, 31, two sons Fayez Ali, 14 and Intaj Ali, 5, and daughter Shahina, 2, had been pushed into Bangladesh by the BSF through Bangabari border of Gomostapur upazila at around 7:00am on Saturday.

They spoke Hindi and did not understand Bangla, BDR sources said, adding that earlier Delhi police arrested them from Nizamuddin Kaligate area.

Lt Col Fazlur Rahman, commanding officer of 43 Naogaon Rifles Battalion, confirmed the incident of sending back the five Indian nationals

As reports say, BSF picked up children from "No man's land", but thats abducting!!

Than they pushed five Indians in bangladesh (must be playing games!).
So, a family of five Indian muslims which spoke hindi and not bangla! I did like to know in which Indian state bordering Bangladesh Hindi is spoken! Also, a muslim family speaking hindi but not urdu.

What right the Indian terrorist BSF have to abduct people from No Man's land ??? or even stop someone from fishing ?

I wonder may be BSF cant differentiate between bengali Indians and Muslim Indians BUT howcome Delhi Police could not know they were Indians speaking hindi/urdu

Why BSF forced this Muslim family to enter BD??

BTW in India the current day urdu aka hindi is almost the same thing
and i am sure the Bangladeshis call it hindi.

So this point is so weak in your argument.

No man's land is no man's land. You cannot enter there. If BSF picked them up from there, its not wrong. Surprisingly, how did Bangladeshi forces let them reach that place.
And you missed the point, they were cutting barbed wire, not fishing. Its in the report.

Its not written for what Delhi police had arrested them. Even not sure whether they had or not, no proof! Besides, why did they (the Urdu/Hindi speaking, Bangla not knowing family!) came all the way from Delhi to Bangladesh border??!! BSF operates along the border only, not in Delhi. Delhi police cannot send them to BSF, not possible, even if they are illegal immigrants.

And I am sure most muslims in subcontinent can differentiate between Urdu and Hindi.

ok cal me any thing you want guys just place one of these and shoot the hell out who ever crosses border illegeally because i am sick of these news.

Post this news in Bangladesh section where you have a sticky thread about BSF and make an issue out of it....we give s**t about these type of news from your media.

Wow! So NO MAN'S LAND becomes all man's land and illegal entrants suddenly become "victims". Typical mentality of India's enemies from Kashmiri terrorists to illegal immigrants in our country. We give too much concern for both the scumbags.

Anyone illegally entering the border should be gunned down with automated gatling guns and the same against separatists and terrorists. Systematic cleaning up should be done so as to make our country safe from such threats.

Jana ji, a journalist (in the original, pure sense of the word) is not biased but treats each story according to it's own merits.

You degrade yourself, and the once-noble profession you have chosen, by using such language. Your strident Anti-Indian rhetoric will ensure that only the kinds of people that follow your work, are the persons that support this narrow ideology.

Sorry to point this out, but it is a fact.

indian member trying desperately to justify BSF actions that are beyond human norm. By doing so indians are increasingly displaying uncivilized norm and loosing any moral argument.
