BROADSHEET CASE
1. Parvez Musharraf established NAB in 1999
2. NAB employs Broadsheet in the UK to hunt illegal money transferred by 200 Pakistanis to Europe
3. Broadsheet investigation finds out lead for USD 1 billion illegal money & properties of PML(N) & PPP leadership
4. PML(N) & PPP get alarmed and tries to influence Broadsheet but no success
5. PPP & PML(N) expedite settlement with Parvez Musharraf which ends up with NRO
6. NAB asks Broadsheet to stop further proceedings - which is a breach of contract.
7. Broadsheet sues NAB for fulfilling contract/pay dues. They claim USD 5 million.


Govt changes - PPP takes Power
8. NAB gradually withdraws all cases against PPP leadership
9. Govt ignores Broadsheet's claim and loses the case in court & arbitration.

The penalty is USD 15M
10. Government tries to settle the case with Broadsheet but ends up paying a fraudster a hefty amount of USD 1.5 million. No one bothered.


Government changes - PML(N) takes Power
11. NAB continues to exist. PPP and PML(N) call shots and appoint a Chairperson of their choice
12. Govt continues to ignore the decision of arbitration in the UK. The claim continues to swell.
13. Broadsheet approaches PML(N) Government to honor arbitration decision but no avail.

14. Broadsheet pushes UK courts to enforce ArbitrationThe penalty swells to USD 28.5 million.
15. UK Court freezes accounts of Pakistani Embassy and also looks out for other Pakistani properties to be attached to fulfill claim amount.
16. Government agrees to pay Broadsheet - to save the honor of Government and its assets.
The penalty swells to USD 28. 5 million.
17. Until payment is made to Broadsheet, the claim will increase by USD 5000 per day.

Excellent summary... End of the day, hope its a learning lesson for all ... But they will never learn.

So the average citizen has to suffer the consequences of entrenched systematic corruption... It's a never ending cycle...
