DID YOU KNOW THAT A TSUNAMI HAPPENED IN BRAZIL THIS MONTH?
The biggest environmental tragedy in Brazil took place on November 5, when two dams of mining waste broke, dumping more than 62 million cubic meters of mud ( the equivalent of 24,000 Olympic swimming pools) over five cities. The rupture of dams in Mariana threw tons of mud and tailings in the Rio Doce , the most important watershed in the Southeast of the country.
These wastes are mixed with mud, water, iron ore, mercury, aluminum, arsenic, lead and manganese. This tasunami of toxic sludge continues " traveling " downstream, and has left 07 people dead, 18 missing and environmental damage have been invaluable. The fauna and flora of Rio Doce are dead.
Companies responsible for this incalculable damage are Vale and BHP Billiton, the two (of 3) biggest mining companies in the world.
The Brazil cries out for justice!!
