yesterday is finally booked that tour for my girl and me. We take off in Roma at 12th september and fly Dubai. There we have to wait 3h until we catch our flight to Adelaide.

We concentrate mostly on nature. Will visit kangaroo island, blue mountains, sydney, alice springs, Ayers Rock, Kata Tjuta, Kingy Canyon. Then head north to the rainforests at Darwin. Visit Kakadu National park, the Great Barrier Reef. Then head east to Brisbane and visit the Lamington national park before we fly back home.

Thats the exact tour

It was important that we have Kakadu NP on the list, because its the most amazing place. I always wanted to see those massive crocodiles there. We also have a tour with a native guide through the rain forests.

To do list:

swim in a oasis at kings canyon, hold a Koala and see a Platypus. :D

The Platypus actually is a top for me and i actually dont know where to go regarding that. They are at Lamigton NP in the wild. But they are very shy. I checked and learned they have some in the Taronga Zoo in Sydney. So i guess thats my best option. :D

.
Hey how can you forget petting kangaroos? There is the Featherdale Wildlife Park in Sydney incase you can't pet them at Taronga. You can even feed them from a cone.

And oh, Welcome to Australia :D

.
Lamington national Park has a lot of waterfalls and quaint slow moving creeks. I have hiked through it multiple times but never spotted one. In the meantime some lucky people spot them with single visit so who knows. Also I would advise you to spend some time in sunshine coast if you want to be in awe with the natural beauty or you can do gold coast if you are more into parties.

He can eat them also since Australian authorities allowed even encourage to eat Kangaroos because their population increases too much.
Do Kangaroos Halal?

.
Unfortunately i cant influence the tour that much. In Sydney i will skip the opera house to get to Taronga zoo.

I must see a Platypus. :D Its an absolute must for me. Nr. 2 is Koala (maybe hold one ^^) and i think that petting a Kangaroo is also possible at Taronga.

Oh and forgot, the tour starts in Setember 2018. Its quite expensive so we have to save some money for it. ^^

You mean you still have a whole year before the tour?

Do Kangaroos Halal?

Yes, when slaughtered in the prescribed manner they are Halal.

. .
Then you have access to lot of free meat

The only Kangaroos in Sydney are either in Sydney, or colloquial in nature.

That said, there are lots of fishing spots and it is true that if you know what you are doing you can feed yourself on a steady supply if freshly caught fish. Depends where you are living though.

Yes. The whole trip costs 10350 €. I save 800 € per month xD. This year we go Peru (in 6 weeks).

Australia was always a big dream for me. When i was a little kid i watched all stuff about the wildlife there. With Steve Irwin and so on.

I actually did think severl months about this Australia tour. I was switching between Australia and New Zealand. But was Chile last year and New Zealand has similar landscapes as New Zealand. So i opted for Australia, mostly because the crazy wildlife there.

I hope i see an inland Taipan :D

What you think, is it possible to see much wildlife in australia? Like Echidnas and so on?

Maybe there is a reptilian section at Taronga. Never been there so I can't say for sure.

You have definitely chosen a good time. September is when winter is going through mid life crisis in Sydney. Some days turn out very warm. Others are very cold. Ofcourse up north should be absolutely awesome.

There are whale watching tours with a high probability of actually seeing some.

For wild life outside zoos, you will have to arrange a bush tour.

I have read many stories of people encountering pythons. Also, things like red back spiders are so common it's not even news. If you are going to be in urban areas, you won't be running into wildlife.

. . .
Don't worry, highly improbable to encounter them in the middle of urban areas.

We are not that much in urban areas. We are mostly in remote areas. xD

Whats the worst? I hered the king brown and mulga are very fast and agressive. The Taipan is rather shy? I did buy a book about them. ^^

My experience with them is nill. I would be calling 000 if I came face to face with them and there was no way to walk away.

You can see Platypus in SEALIFE Sydney Aquarium in case if you want an alternative to Taronga Zoo. You can pet Wild Kangaroo if you drive from Sydney to Canberra or Sydney to Brisbane, I used to saw them (and killed some unfortunately via traffic accident, god blessed) during my daily travel from Sydney to Penrith, there are spot in Nepean you can see some wild Kangaroo. Many Kangaroo basically everywhere in Australia.

On the other hand, you cannot pet Koala in the wild (You cannot touch them as that was illegal) you can see wild Koala in some town in Queensland bordering Sydney, but if you want to pet them, there are only a few site you can go, featherdale wildlife park in Doonside (about 10 minutes drive from my home) or Taronga Zoo in Sydney (some people say they do but some say they didn't offer it anymore, otherwise anywhere in NSW is illegal) and Basically most zoo in Brisbane allow you to pet them and hold them (Australia Zoo, Townsville Sanctuary and so on).

Personally, I am not a big National Park visitor, so if I were you, I would say you done with Kakadu and move on, it's all the same, but if you drive to outback, you can drive to Broome where it's near the Kimberley and very freaking far from Perth, but the upside is, you can see desert and ride camel and live like a aboriginal (if you choose to live that way)

Also, you don't want to go to Opera House as it have nothing inside, it's just an opera house, what you should do is, if you are going to Taronga Zoo, don't take a bus but go to Circular Quay and take a ferry, the ferry will round over Opera House and go under Harbor Bridge, then when you return, go take another ferry to Manly, there you can see the Pacific Ocean from Manly Point.

He can eat them also since Australian authorities allowed even encourage to eat Kangaroos because their population increases too much.

In Australia, Kangaroo is considered Pest in many area, it's legal and is one of the reason why you can apply for a hunting license, especially when you have a farm or something like that.

Kangaroo and Emu (another Australian National Animal) are unlike Koala which was quite abundant in the wild, and it was one of the core meat the aboriginal eat. Where I live I can drive 20 - 30 minutes in any direction and I will see some wild Kangaroo on my wind screen...
