Bollywood's Manisha Koirala in hospital
Bollywood actress Manisha Koirala has been admitted to a hospital in the western Indian city of Mumbai for medical tests.
Koirala was admitted to the Jaslok Hospital for "undergoing some tests and will be in hospital for some time," hospital spokesperson Krishnakant Dasyam told PTI news agency.
Koirala, 42, has appeared in several Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam movies.
She began her career in 1991 and recently made a comeback.
Hailing from a prominent family in Nepal, Koirala debuted in Subhash Ghai's Saudagar. She was recently seen in Ram Gopal Varma's film Bhoot Returns (Ghost Returns).
In 2002, Mumbai police foiled an attempt to kidnap Koirala, during a period when Bollywood stars faced extortion threats from criminals bent on gaining huge sums of money.
Koirala was also involved in a controversy after she complained that a body double was used without her permission in a 2002 Hindi film Ek Chhoti Si Love Story (A Small Love Story).
A court had put the screening on hold after Koirala alleged that her reputation would be damaged if the film was screened.
