BBJ MAX 7 has 7,000 nmi range, connecting key city pairs

Boeing Business Jets announced the sale of the first BBJ MAX 7 today at the Middle East Business Aviation Association (MEBAA). The BBJ MAX 7 was ordered by an undisclosed customer based in the Asia Pacific region.

"The BBJ MAX 7 is an exceptional business jet and we know our customers will be thrilled with the airplane," said David Longridge, president, Boeing Business Jets. "The 7,000 mile range will connect key city pairings that were previously not possible in a BBJ and increased cabin and cargo space makes this an unbeatable business jet."

The BBJ MAX 7 is longer than the original BBJ, providing more space in the cabin while also creating additional volume for cargo in the lower lobe. In addition, because of its new, more fuel-efficient LEAP-1B engines, the BBJ MAX 7 has reduced fuel burn and emissions and requires less cargo volume be reserved for auxiliary fuel tanks, no matter what the mission length.

"The BBJ MAX 7 inherits all of the features of the already launched BBJ MAX 8 and BBJ MAX 9, including an updated flight deck, improved aerodynamics and a reduced noise profile. Despite being larger and more capable than the current BBJ, the new MAX 7 has the lowest operating costs of any Boeing Business Jets aircraft.

Boeing Business Jets has twelve BBJ MAXs on order; with one BBJ MAX 7, ten BBJ MAX 8s and one BBJ MAX 9.

New York to Lahore is 7128.95 miles, converted to NMI is ~6195.

This allows the possibility of PIA reestablishing it's direct route between the US and Pakistan eliminating Pakistanis to use Qatar/Emirates/Etihad.

Something that can be accomplished with the Dreamliners, provided PIA is competent enough to market something Pakistanis favor, direct flights to Pakistan without 4-6 hour layovers in Qatar/UAE.

EDIT: This is the Business line of aircraft, of which Emirates has a dedicated division currently operating 1 A319 in Europe/Asia/Africa. On Aviation Week the BBJ President specific states the potential for direct New York to Dubai routes.

Unless Qatar is planing on upgrading from their current Bombardier or Gulfstream, or Etihad creating their own executive division.

PIA has to do a stop over in Europe not because of fuel but due to security. PIA still wont be allowed to have direct flights to the US.

PIA has had previous flights direct from US to Pak with a stop in Heathrow for refueling. Current Boeing/Airbus lineup can allow to direct routes without stops.

The return flight to US can be stopped in Europe for a scheduled review.

No one has a problem with a 1 or 2 hour stop it's the 4-6, with the superior quality Emirates/Etihad/Qatar, that gets my dad mad at how bad PIA is.
