PESHAWAR: The bodies of 10 Frontier Constabulary (FC) personnel, who went missing during a clash with militants on December 22, were found near Dabori area of Upper Orakzai Agency on Monday, confirmed an official.

An official said, “This morning, we found the bodies of the men near Dabori. They were part of an advancing party that came under attack from the militants.”Officials said that the bodies of the men were flown off to Peshawar via a helicopter. No group has claimed responsibility yet; however, it is believed by officials that it was the Tehreek-i-Taliban chapter in the area that was behind the killings.

At least 22 security personnel, including a major, were injured and 10 personnel had gone missing after a clash in the Orakzai Agency on December 22.In a similar incident, 15 FC personnel were killed last week and their bodies were found in the area bordering North Waziristan and Orakzai. The Taliban had claimed responsibility for the killings, and had said that it was in revenge of the security operation taking place against the militants.

Security forces had launched an operation against the militants in Upper Orkazai Agency and in the last few months they have come under attack from several militants.Gunship helicopters and heavy artillery is used frequently to target the militants. The operation in Orakzai is led by the Frontier Constabulary.

The problem is that how can a bunch of yahoos so frequently attack military check posts,plunder them,kill soldiers and abduct such large number of soldiers..
Are Pakistani security forces Under trained and under equipped?

yup.a disgrace for pakistani security forces...FC should be trained better to atleast stop themselves from being abducted so frequently.

Looks like the FC is again the FC of old days. It was a potent force under the command of Major Genral Tariq Khan which used to kick as$ of TTP for good. Don't know who is the IG FC now but he isn't doing his job well and needs to do something about this.

Very sad to hear about these soldiers..These incidents are escalated by those powers who don't want peace in the region. Talks with these terrorists are going on, such incidents are made to end these talks. With NATO supply stopped for almost 45 days the ammunition and ration of these terrorists are coming to end too. After all it was their source of resupply too...whether they grab them enroute to NATO or through a proper channel, they always get the resupply on time...imagine if they fire 50 bullets per day, that makes it 1500 for a month and 18,000 for a year. PA and security forces are sustaining a long war with proper resupply...question is can these terrorists do so, with no resupply? If not they have to show their anger, or will die waiting...

In these horrible days, being captured should never be an option. Security forces and soldiers should be mentally prepared and also equipped to fight to the bitter end and never give up. The alternative is an ignoble death.

I think FC is facing exactly what our CRPF was facing fighting Maoists sometime back which ultimately resulted in the death of 70+ CRPF personnel in Dantewada. After that CRPF changed their tactics, got new weapons, retrained their personnel for jungle warfare and now the casuality rate is down and Maoists are on the run.
